The Metabolomics facility at UPSC was launched in 2002 and is developing into a national core facility/technical platform to provide techniques enabling metabolites to be identified and metabolic fluxes to be quantified in clinical samples, experimental model systems for diagnostic and disease monitoring.

MIMS is the Swedish node of the Nordic EMBL Partnership for Molecular Medicine. The partnership between EMBL, the Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM), the Centre for Molecular Medicine Norway (NCMM) and the Laboratory for Molecular Infection Medicine Sweden (MIMS) is dedicated to the growing field of life sciences that investigates the molecular basis of disease and explores molecularly and genetically based treatments.
