Umeå University EC Jubilee Symposium - The MIMS Excellence by Choice Programme

Welcome to the University's EC Jubiliee Symposium!
Friday 16 October 2015, Aula Nordica, 13.30-16.30

“What enables groundbreaking research? What might attract the next generation of researchers? These questions are of fundamental importance to research and will be highlighted and discussed at the symposium Excellence by Choice.

Invited speakers include internationally leading scientists and research directors involved in recruitment and scientific policy guiding. Young group leader colleagues share their experience together with the successful MIMS group leader and role model Emmanuelle Charpentier, now known worldwide for her research on CRISPR-Cas9, a groundbreaking genome editing tool. The symposium is organised by Umeå University and its Laboratory for Molecular Infection Medicine Sweden – MIMS – the Swedish node in The Nordic EMBL Partnership for Molecular Medicine.

Inauguration of the Swedish Metabolomics Centre 11-12 March 2013

The former metabolomics platform at KBC has expanded. All interested people, experts and non-experts,
who want to learn more about the new established centre and its service and research are welcome to an inspiring symposium which is organized during two half days at KBC.
The symposium will take place on
11-12 March 2013, at Chemical Biological Centre (KBC), Umeå University, Large Lecture Hall, Stora Hörsalen KB3B1.

Marianne Sommarin, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research at Umeå University, and Johan Schnürer, Deputy Vice-chancellor for Cooperation at SLU, will invite the new centre on 12 March at 10:40 am, Large Lecture hall "Stora hörsalen", KB3B1, KBC.
