I had a chat with Debojyoti Das, a senior research assistant in the Bushell lab. He joined MIMS in January 2020 and since then he is balancing his time between different countries, traveling to visit his wife who has recently joined as an assistant professor in their home country, India.

The Nordic EMBL Partnership Coordination and Operations team assembled in Oslo for two days to advance joint initiatives.
In early May, The Centre for Molecular Medicine Norway (NCMM) hosted thirteen colleagues from its three sister Nordic research centers and EMBL. The program offered a warm reception for the team after more than two years of solely remote interactions.

I had a chat with Fabiola Puertolas Balint who is a doctoral student in Björn Schröder’s group. Her grandfather left Spain for Mexico during the Spanish civil war and stayed there to start a family. Fabiola left Mexico to come to Europe for her studies. Where will she settle? That is still a mystery.

The Henriksson lab is seeking two postdoctoral scientists to work on Project 1) in CAR T cells and CRISPR screening methods development, or on Project 2) in machine learning for single-cell data analysis. You will be based in the lab of Johan Henriksson (www.henlab.org). The Henriksson lab is based at the Department of Molecular Biology and is part of The Laboratory of Molecular Infection Medicine Sweden (MIMS), which is the Swedish node within the Nordic EMBL Partnership for Molecular Medicine.

On 6th April, 2022, members of MIMS participated at an online meeting with the director and group leaders of the Vilnius University Life Sciences Center (VU LSC)-EMBL Partnership for Genome Editing Technologies. The aim of the meeting was to strengthen the connection between the MIMS, the Swedish node within the Nordic EMBL Partnership, and VU LSC, EMBL node since 2020, and identify initial matching points for future collaborations.
