Making intractable pathogens tractable

Barandun Jonas 9659 210120 MPNIn our research group we are using a combination of in vivo assays, biochemistry and cryo-electron microscopy to study macromolecular complexes of specialized pathogenic organisms. We would like to understand the molecular basis of essential pathways in pathogens and uncover unique structural determinants that could serve as novel targets for antibiotics.

Msc, PhD student and post-doctoral positions available

Postdoctoral and PhD positions are available for researchers who would like to apply state-of-the-art techniques in cryo-electron microscopy to study important processes in pathogenic organisms. Highly motivated candidates who would like to work in a young and dynamic team are encouraged to apply. A background in molecular biology and biochemistry is required and experience in structural biology a plus. Please contact me with a CV and short letter of motivation.
